Top 10 Fortnite Skins

By Jim Jones

There’s always a top 10 for everything these days, and what better way to rank all of the skins that have been released in Fortnite than by curating our list?

Over the years, the Fortnite Item Shop has been filled with tons of outfits and accessories that cater to almost every gamer. As with any multiplayer game, these days, skins and other types of cosmetic items are all the rage. The sheer range of choice that players have is almost paralyzing, to say the least. But then again, it’s extremely handy to be able to dress up as almost anything. A superhero? Check. How about being a Mandalorian for a day? Of course. Possibly have a fish head? You got it. Besides the vast array of collaborations Fortnite has done, the developers over at Epic Games constantly do some brainstorming to figure out what the community wants in Fortnite. With many skins and so few V-Bucks, just what are the best skins that players could get in the multi-faceted battle royale?

10. Master Chief

Since Chapter 2, Epic Games has collaborated with a lot of fan-favorite franchises that have set up a home in Fortnite. This, in turn, has led to some popular fictional characters being added to the game in the form of an outfit that can be purchased in the Fortnite Item Shop with a Fortnite account. Arguably, Master Chief is one of the best recreations of a PC gaming icon that made its way to the battle royale. Unlike the atrocities that happened to Street Fighter characters and God of War’s Kratos, Master Chief thankfully doesn’t look like a weird CG cartoon and instead simply looks like what he’s supposed to be.

9. Mystique

In Chapter 2: Season 4 and 5, Fortnite players saw a huge collab with Marvel. With the addition of the Avengers in the game, a lot of superheroes made their way to host an event that gamers will never forget. Among the many heroes, the anti-hero/villain Mystique stands out as being one of the best skins out there that player’s ought to keep an eye on should it come to the Fortnite Item Shop again. This is because the Mystique skin can copy the look of any enemy they eliminate, making their skin a “jack of all trades”.

8. Peely

Is there anything else left to say about Peely that hasn’t been said already? Peely is a banana person. End of discussion. Who wouldn’t want to look like an anthropomorphic food product in a game? Not us. Peely’s eyes are the very definition of being able to look straight into a person’s soul and suck their essence out of them because of how blackish they are. With how popular the Peely skin is, it’s safe to say that the banana isn’t due to rot anytime soon.

7. Skull Trooper

The Skull Trooper was part of the special skins that were released during Halloween season. They’re pretty simple in terms of design since the skin just has a skeleton suit on, but the reason that players are constantly scouring the internet just to have the outfit is due to its value. The Skull Trooper can now be regarded as a rare piece that hasn’t surfaced in the Fortnite Item Shop for a long time, making it one of the most wanted skins in the battle royale.

6. Midas

Most players would think to get all of the skins that came from Fortnite’s collaborations, but they shouldn’t sleep on Epic’s creations too! The developers themselves have already a colorful cast of characters that are worth keeping, including Midas. Players that were able to reach level 100 in Chapter 2 were the only ones that could get the shady-looking villain for 950 V-Bucks. A tall, dark, and brooding character, Midas is a cool-looking skin that folks shouldn’t miss out on.

5. Rippley

Much nicer than his arch-enemy Sludge, Rippley is just an adorable blob who’s all hugs and sunshine. The Slurp Squad Hero is perfect for the players that are looking for something that’s a little more…unconventional, to say the least. Plus, who would want to own this dapper-looking slime that wouldn’t even harm an ant?

4. Galaxy Skin

One would think that a Fortnite skin that’s associated with a phone company would be dull, but they’re dead wrong. The Galaxy skin is one of the best out there. It used to only be exclusive to those that bought an actual Samsung phone, but a recent collab done made the Galaxy skin more accessible for everyone to get. For those that want to look that’s truly out of this world, the Galaxy skin is the perfect fit.

3. DJ Yond3r

Fans of Daft Punk? We got you. The DJ Yond3r looks like something out of a Fortnite /Daft Punk crossover, even if there’s nothing like that in the first place–for now. The skin is so popular to the point where DJ Yond3r even has his own Funko Pop. Plus, there are a lot of style options for him too, making him more customizable than the other skins on this list.

2. Clark Kent

We can’t have a top 10 list of the best Fortnite skins without including at least one superhero. Who wouldn’t want to be the man of the hour? Superman is one of the most well-known characters, regardless of whether or not people know the Kryptonian’s true origins. With two styles to choose from, players can opt to just be regular ol’ Clark Kent or transform into a superhero that saves the day.

1. Leviathan

Leviathan is one of the first skins that Epic has made for Fortnite. Having the undertone of an evil supervillain, the Leviathan is one fish that players ought to hook into their skin collection amongst the whole slew of numerous outfits that have been released so far.

And those are our top 10 picks for the best Fortnite skins! There’s no doubt that there will be many more outfits and accessories that will be released in the Fortnite Item Shop down the line. Plus, with Fortnite regularly featuring all kinds of franchises, players can expect more unique casts of characters to come to the most played battle royale.
