In Call of Duty Warzone, the main objective for all players is to secure the bag, whether that be body bags or bags of CASH MONEY, HONEY.
Once a player loots the body of an enemy, or receives a reward from a contract, their first thought should be speeding over to the nearest green shopping cart on the map.
Equip the Hardline perk for a sweet discount on goodies, but beware! Too long standing in front of the supply container leaves you open for an easy assassination. To prevent this, listen close for any enemies creeping up into your zone. A quality game headset can really be a game changer on this front.
I won’t dispute that S-tier pro gamers, (equipped with the best gaming equipment), can pick up any taped-together rifle with a cracked scope and handily slaughter the entire population of Verdansk without further assistance. However, for anyone below that skill level, victory in Verdansk is highly dependent upon the equipment picked up from buy stations.
Take a gander below at some of our picks for the ten best pieces of equipment that can be purchased in COD Warzone.
10. Shield Turret
The shield turret has so much potential, but in its current state in Warzone this equipment is lackluster, likely the least purchased item in the game.
The damage per second being pumped out of this weapon is hefty, and its ability to be picked up and redeployed elsewhere is a useful feature. However, these pluses are far outweighed by a wretched assortment of flaws. The shield turret provides a pitiful amount of shielding, a slow rate of fire, the inability to place it wherever you want, and a huge callout on the map after deploying it. This last flaw makes surprise attacks at choke points nearly impossible, which means the main purpose of this weapon is negated by anyone who occasionally checks their mini-map.
In its current iteration, don’t even bother with the shield turret unless you are using it as a decoy. Even still, there are better cash purchases available.
9. Gas Mask
The gas mask is essential for braving the dangerous lands outside of the eye of the storm, because toxic gas will eat up your health unless you have one equipped. If you’ve already acquired a gas mask from a buy station or crate, your player will equip it automatically once you break into the storm.
Keep in mind, going into a gaseous zone with a mask triggers an uninterruptible animation of strapping it to your face, which leaves you open to enemy fire. There is a long list of pissed-off Warzone players who were ganked in the middle of a firefight, just because they took a step out of the circle and the animation was triggered.
Besides this setback, traversing out of the circle with a mask can be a great strategy. Players can acquire equipment unavailable to their opponents, or sneak up on them by busting out of the haze like Rambo with a HAZMAT suit. Keep in mind, the mask’s respiration only works for a certain amount of time, so don’t go in too deep without an exit strategy.
8. Armor Plate Bundle
I know I put this one toward the top, but in reality, the armor plate bundle is likely the most purchased item in all buy stations throughout Verdansk. Turns out, bullet mechanics are fairly realistic in COD Warzone. No matter how ruthless your COD operator looks, it only takes a few shots max to drop an unarmored foe. Keeping a few plates strapped is the only way to survive.
Armored plate bundles are purchased in sets of five, which is enough to fill up an operator’s inventory with a full set equipped. Having a stocked inventory is essential, as these things shatter after a burst of rounds or a couple well placed sniper bolts.
There are many ways to acquire plates in Verdansk, including scavenging off of dead bodies, finding them in crates or littered around points of interest. Purchasing isn’t always necessary, though the investment is always worth it.
7. Munitions Box
From here, the equipment on this list is geared toward improving the chances of survivability for both the individual player and the team. We’ll start with the munitions box, which is an essential support drop for maintaining a position and keeping friendly guns firing.
Munitions box is not only an ammo stockpile; interacting with it can refill equipment, too. Therefore, anytime a Warzone team is close together, they should coordinate a purchase of a munitions box.
The one cautionary addendum that comes with a munitions or an armor plate box, is that they can be exploited as an explosive armament if shot at by another team. Best practice is to quickly restock and then move away from it in case an enemy tries to catch you in its blast radius.
6. Armor Box
For $1000 more than the munitions box, a whole team can armor up like a juggernaut by deploying the armor plate box.
The armor plate bundle is great in a pinch, as it only stocks an individual player with five armor plates. However, smart Warzone teams will pool their cash and coordinate purchase of an armor plate box in a strong defensible space. This allows everyone to refill their inventory and personal armor plate slots, in total equating to 8 armor plates.
Going up against a completely decked out team is a daunting task for any Warzone player, so they will likely try and demolish your armor plate box to cut off supplies as well as detonate any nearby operators. For whatever reason, the armor plate box is highly explosive.
5. Cluster Strike
The cluster strike is the economical option for the two air strike options offered in Warzone. That said, just because this explosive payload is cheaper doesn’t mean it can’t be a game changer.
The cluster strike is a hailstorm of rockets on a small, designated area that is dropped for six consecutive waves. This strike pattern can be seen on the map and therefore avoided, but if an enemy is sucker punched by the first wave, it’s near guaranteed that the next fusillade will pulverize them straight into the Gulag.
We highly recommend deploying the cluster strike in more open areas for maximum damage.
4. Precision Air Strike
Due to the mighty and violent radius of the precision air strike, this thing is perfectly suited for a satisfying squad wipe. A squad wipe is especially vital here because, while this thing will quickly cripple anyone in the blast radius, the single pop nature of it means that any nearby foes can run in and revive their fallen brethren after the drop. If possible, hover on the outskirts of the boom to slide in and finish off the stragglers.
Due to the accurate nature of the precision air strike, the capabilities of this meteoric rain of bullets and rockets make it perfect for decimating an enemy position by vaporizing armor plate and munitions boxes, as well as overtaking defensive positions with little risk to your team.
3. Self-Revive Kit
A second chance administered via hypodermic needle, the self-revive kit has saved many souls from Gulag purgatory. When armor plates shatter, when health hits zero, the self-revive kit is the panic button that may allow you to scurry away and fight another day. This kit also may negate the need for a Gulag victory and then your team having to pay for a costly redeployment.
What is effective about the self-revive kit in Warzone versus regular multiplayer is that so many kills in Verdansk are accomplished from afar, either from a sniper or an air strike. In most cases, an operator can crawl to cover to avoid being finished off, then use the kit for a saving second wind.
The major drawbacks of the self-revive kit are the high cost of purchase and its failure to make a difference if an enemy is near enough to double tap you.
The UAV is some costly equipment. However, being able to pinpoint your enemy and ambush them unawares easily outweighs the necessity for armor, full ammunition, or a big missile dropped from the clouds.
Once the UAV is activated, a player can spot red dots on their mini-map indicating enemy positions for a temporary amount of time. This is a ferocious advantage in most cases, though the radius of enemy awareness is limited by your immediate area displayed on the mini-map.
However, should three members of your team simultaneously deploy a UAV, this marks the deployment of a super UAV, also known as an orbital VSAT. The VSAT gives your team an omniscient view of the entire map of Verdansk, displaying their constant movements across the map without interruption for as long as the UAV is active. This is perfect for spotting pesky snipers, and mobilizing your team to snuff them out.
1. Loadout Drop Marker
The most expensive piece of equipment available in the buy station is also the biggest game changer, depending on your loadout set.
All Warzone teams on top of their game strive to collectively save for the loadout drop marker, because despite the plentiful weapons available in the various points of interest in Verdansk, nothing beats the weapon set and perks a player is most proficient in.
Once purchased by a team, it’s only a matter of time that opponents are wiped out with their various lower tier weapons.
Any Warzone veteran can detail the massive importance of having the best in-game equipment. We at gamingtoptens.com are also of the belief that out-of-game equipment can be just as important, which means stocking up with the best gaming accessories that won’t break the budget.
