Curved swords in Elden Ring offer players the middle ground between traditional english-style longswords and the katana’s skinnier, longer aesthetic that edge lords just gotta have (just kidding, but only kinda). With the game being as large and nuanced as it is with movesets, damage, scaling, and weapon utility overall, finding the right Curved Sword to invest your smithing stones into can be quite difficult.
For this reason, we here at GamingTopTens have taken to finding the best late game curved sword in Elden Ring so that you don’t have to. If you want damage, a strong moveset, and some bonuses on top, you’ve absolutely got to with the Scavenger’s Curved Sword.
Scavenger’s Curved Sword – Best Endgame Curved Sword in Elden Ring
The Scavenger’s Curved Sword of Mt. Gelmir is a versatile, high damage late weapon that scales greatly into a C / C weapon with Strength and Dexterity scaling, by default. The sword has a +45 bleed effect on standard damage weaponry and absolutely becomes a late game wrecking machine with its B / B scaling with the quality table applied.
The sword also has the spinning slash weapon skill, which acts as a strong way to inflict a few hits quickly, stacking massive damage and building up blood loss very quickly. In PvE, this sword acts as a strong way to burn down weak-to-bleed foes, such as humanoids and the likes of the fire giant. In PvP, dual wielding the Curved Sword is an almost sure fire way to become a glass canon archetype that stacks damage to poise and HP very, very quickly.
How to get Scavengers Curved Sword
As aforementioned, the Scavenger’s Curved Sword can be found at Mt. Gelmir. To find it, head north-west of the first grace campsite at Mt. Gelmir. After some travel, you should find a stone bridge with a Grafted Scion nearby. Instead of crossing the bridge, look for a corpse at a nearby ladder. The Scavenger’s Curved Sword is on the corpse nearest the ladder.
Best Build for Scavengers Curved Sword
The great thing about the Scavenger’s Curved Sword is that a wide variety of builds will work incredibly well, so no matter your playstyle there will always be a reason to pick this weapon up. Here are the more notable archetypes to try out for both PvP and PvE play.
First, a classical quality build means that end game characters with high strength and dexterity will simply get the most amount of damage out of the weapon possible. As mentioned, this gives the weapon a B / B STR and DEX scaling rating at +25, and will absolutely make easy work of the PvE content. Enemies with smaller health pools will falter very quickly in the face of quick swings smacking for around 500 damage each, while enemies with larger health pools, such as the God Skin Apostle, will absolutely shred under the weight of the quickly stacking bleed effect.
For late game PvP, your personal skill will matter more than the weapon, but this blade will help punish enemies greater than a large number of other weapons in the game, and a quality build will be optimal for late game non-faith or intellect users.
Second, players who are early to mid game can opt to simply leave the weapon at standard scaling, as the increased flat damage will benefit such builds better than extra scaling found with a quality build.
Additionally, players who are magic or faith based, obviously, should spec into the weapon’s potential via MAG or SAC scaling to make use of their non-melee focused build. The fact that you can get these split damage types in Elden Ring and not lose out on the bleed effect is absolutely massive, and will keep the PvE content flowing just as much as the PvP experience.
Lastly, players who are particularly adventurous can spec into the blood scaling archetype for a C / C STR and DEX scaling, along with an extra 37 bleed stack per hit. This isn’t particularly effective in every situation, but will mean that two Scavenger’s Blades dual wielded can stack a full amount of bleed on an enemy in a very short amount of time. For PvP, this is close to useless in most situations, but in PvE can be hilariously effective against select bosses.
The Scavenger’s Blade is a versatile, high damage, quick hitting bleed extraordinaire that can do just about anything a player of any build could want. For PvP, it makes quick work of foes. For PvE, there isn’t a single enemy in the game that you couldn’t take advantage of through the use of this weapon, save for those who attack from a distance or Rykard the snake of invulnerability.
If you need an end-game weapon to invest in, or just want something new to try out, you’ve gotta go Scavenger’s.
